The Witching Hour
When someone asks me what my favorite color is, I just know I’m about to disappoint them. Apparently “black” isn’t a good answer… Who knew?
My response is always met with a scrunched up, distasteful look or a “what are you, emo?” Good one, Clever Carl. You’re so witty. Black is timeless. It’s stunning and mysterious. There is nothing more empowering than rocking an all-black ensemble, and guess what? Black matches everything. Dressing in the mornings got so much easier when my closet started making its inevitable transition into the dark side.
For this post I teamed up with Lauren W Photography to pay homage to my go-to color, and obsession with vampy lips (I’ll take any excuse I can get to wear it). Anyways, we had been dying to shoot something in the beautiful, Victorian, American Horror Story-isque home I’m currently living in and this was the perfect opportunity. The dark wood, stained glass windows and ornate staircase begged me to pull out my sheer, open-faced, noir dress and scruffed combat boots to create a half grungy, half witchy look.
Dare I even say it? I think I like black even more now.
